Moving Forward with The Yoga Room

Greetings from The Yoga Room!

We are excited to be reopening our newly renovated studio on June 4th at 5:00 PM.  We look forward to serving you, once again, in person. And for those of you whom have participated in Zoom classes from cities in Mississippi and other states, we will continue to offer this service to you and anyone else who may want to continue practicing in the comfort, safety, and convenience of your own home. Please read the following announcements thoroughly, so that we may proceed with as little interruption as possible.

You can be confident knowing that The Yoga Room, Tammy, and all of her teachers, have your safety in mind. We are taking all precautionary measures to keep the studio clean and safe. We ask that upon entering the studio, you wear a mask, take off your shoes, and check in at the front desk. Use hand sanitizer and sign our studio waiver. We are only allowing 10 students at one time in the studio. Find a marked spot in the room, that is at least 6 feet from your fellow students. Get set up and you may take your mask off. After class, please put your mask back on to exit the studio.

In order for us to keep the props protected, we ask that you either bring your own or you may purchase our props in very good, used, condition.  The cost of a bundle, made up of 1 bolster, 1 blanket, 2 blocks and 1 strap is $40.00. Cash or check only please.

When registering for classes, we ask that you sign up as soon as possible. There are 2 choices for each class in the same time slot. Choose either the in person option or the Zoom option. If you are practicing by way of Zoom, please be sure to sign up at least 2 hours prior to the class so that the teacher has plenty of time to send links. In studio classes are offered to the first and only 10 students who register.

We want to express our gratitude to all of you who supported us through this uncertain time and transition. You will absolutely love the renovations that have taken place at the studio. We are happy to be back in our sacred space.

Tammy, Michele, Serina, Monica, and Danielle

A Spirit of Continuity and Community

The Yoga Room is sad to announce the temporary closing of the studio for in-person classes beginning Sunday March 22, 2020. And in that sadness, we also feel JOY!  In the spirit of continuity and community, in these uncertain times, our teachers are transitioning all classes to a new format so that you can continue your yoga practice in the comfort and security of your own home.

Beginning on Tuesday morning, March 24, at 10:30 AM, your classes will be offered live by way of ZOOM.  ZOOM is a FREE app that allows you to watch and participate in class as your teacher guides you. Since it is live and interactive, you can converse with your teacher and other students at the beginning and end of each class.

12 classes per week will be available to you, offered at the usual class times.  As always, register for any class on the CLASSES PAGE or the MINDBODY app. All classes continue under your current class card or a drop-in rate, whatever you choose. Then, download the ZOOM “Cloud Meetings” app on your phone, laptop, iPad, or computer.

Please register for your class 24 hours prior to the class time. An email will then come directly from your teacher within 30 minutes of the class starting. If you have downloaded the ZOOM Cloud Meetings app, you will simply click the link in your email that reads “Join Zoom Meeting” right at class time. Your screen will then display a blue button that reads “JOIN ZOOM MEETING”.  Select that button and you are in the class!  You can do this! We did it.

Create a beautiful space in your home or outside somewhere gorgeous and inspiring. ENJOY connecting with your teacher and other students in your class. We are here to serve and support you through these challenging times.

With Love,

The Teachers at The Yoga Room

Greetings Hattiesburg Yoga Community!
I am pleased to officially announce my certification with The International Association of Yoga Therapists. Since 2005, I have been offering group and private sessions for a variety of ailments and conditions as an alternative healing method, meant to complement conventional western medicine. Yoga Therapy is now, in 2017, considered a current and evolving field of health care.

Tammy Kolbo BSN, E-RYT 500, YACEP, C-IAYT

Private Yoga Therapy sessions with me are available by appointment. Recommended for individuals with challenges in mobility, strength or motor control, habitual movement patterns that cause pain, or experienced students who seek to refine their practice. Recommended for athletes who, from muscular imbalance, structural misalignment or overuse, have injuries or limitations. Private yoga therapy sessions are also available to anyone suffering from various symptoms of scoliosis, inflammatory disease, chemotherapy side effects, PTSD, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, or are in recovery from addiction.

A private session includes an initial assessment, detailed instruction and a yogic prescription by email that is intended to be used as home practice. I recommend atleast 3 sessions to establish relationship and for me to fully offer my best on how to move forward. Please note that I do not diagnose issues, but can work with a medical diagnosis. My sessions are intended to be complementary to other forms of health care.
