Skill in Action: A 6 Week Yoga & Movement Course for Strength & Mobility

Skill in Action is for both experienced students and beginners. The only prerequisite is that you be able to get up and down off the floor!

This Course includes the following:

*6 75 minute classes on 6 consecutive Monday nights (Sept. 19th – Oct. 24th)
*short, 15 minute daily practice assignments
*a FREE tee shirt

In this Course, you will learn:

*Vinyasa Flow Warm-ups
*Skillful alignment in Basic Yoga Postures
*Strength and Mobility Exercises for spine, shoulders, and hips
*How to use props to maximize the benefits of each posture and exercise
*Breathing Exercises to increase focus and concentration and to lower stress in the body and mind
*Meditation techniques

***Please bring your own yoga mat, 2 yoga blocks, and a yoga blanket. Bolsters are optional. All other yoga props will be provided.

The Roll Model Method: Myofascial Self-Care for Every Body Saturday October 1, 2022 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM

If you’re interested in learning a logical approach to erasing muscular tension, and living better in your body, this workshop is for you. The Roll Model Method is a simple self-treatment method that teaches you to use a variety of grippy, pliable rubber balls to abolish your aches and pains and change your body from the inside out.

This workshop is for teachers, athletes, office workers, teens or adults….basically, anyone who wants to feel better in their body.

The Roll Model Method can:
—Decrease or eliminate pain
—Improve range of motion
—Increase proprioception
—Uncover movement “blind spots”
—Prepare the body of better performance
—Relax the nervous system

Beginners and Beyond: Self-Care and Resilience every Monday night at 5:45 PM

Beginners and Beyond is for beginners and any level student who is interested in a gentle yoga class that emphasizes a solid foundation and healthy physical alignment. This practice will integrate breathing exercises and mindfulness meditation to relieve stress and to build resilience in these uncertain times. A 1 hour practice for All Levels.

     I am pleased to officially announce my certification with The International Association of Yoga Therapists. Since 2005, I have been offering group and private sessions for a variety of ailments and conditions as an alternative healing method, meant to complement conventional western medicine. Yoga Therapy is considered a current and evolving field of health care.

Private Yoga Therapy sessions with me are available by appointment. Recommended for individuals with challenges in mobility, strength or motor control, habitual movement patterns that cause pain, or experienced students who seek to refine their practice. Recommended for athletes who, from muscular imbalance, structural misalignment or overuse, have injuries or limitations. Private yoga therapy sessions are also available to anyone suffering from various symptoms of scoliosis, inflammatory disease, chemotherapy side effects, PTSD, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, or are in recovery from addiction.

A private session includes an initial assessment, detailed instruction and a yogic prescription by email that is intended to be used as home practice. I recommend atleast 3 sessions to establish relationship and for me to fully offer my best on how to move forward. Please note that I do not diagnose issues, but can work with a medical diagnosis. My sessions are intended to be complementary to other forms of health care.
