Change is constant, inevitable, and often extremely uncomfortable. In these particularly uncertain times that we live in today, it’s important that we feel secure and grounded in certain aspects of our lives. We need our yoga practice now, more than ever! A steady, consistent commitment to movement, quiet time, and community can uplift our spirits and dissolve feelings of fear and isolation. Yoga has always taught us that “the obstacles are the course”. What has 2020 taught you that you can take into 2021? What endings are now new beginnings?
I think gratitude and a positive attitude are two of the best things that we can take with us into the new year. We are grateful to all of you who have made the shift to Zoom classes online, from local students to out of city and state. All Winter Weekly Classes, including 6 Week Courses, will be offered at the studio and also on Zoom. We welcome the new year with strength, grace, faith and courage!

Two new classes have been added to the current weekly class schedule…Power Yoga & Movement Basics on Mondays at 10:30 AM with Tammy and Beginner Yoga on Saturdays at 9:00 AM with Serina. Saturday Slow Flow with all teachers has been moved to 10:30 AM and Yin Yoga with Serina has been changed to 3:30 PM on Sunday afternoons.
Social distancing and safety protocols remain in place and in studio classes are limited to 10 students. Classes resume on Saturday Jan. 2, 2021. Happy New Year!

This 6 Week Course is a Chair Yoga Class designed for older adults who desire to establish mindful and intentional movement into their day to day lives. Chair yoga will teach you how to use a chair to enhance movement in shoulders and hips while allowing you the support and stability needed to focus on regaining or maintaining strength in the arms, legs and core. A variety of breathing techniques will be taught to encourage slower, deeper breaths in order to bring more oxygen to the brain and other tissues throughout the body.
Join Michele for a one hour class in studio or on Zoom every Tuesday from January 12th – February 15th at 1:45pm. In studio participants are limited to 5 and zoom participants are limited to 8. The investment for this 6 week course is $80. Each student will need a stable chair without arms (studio has chairs) a strap or belt and a yoga block or large book.

This 6 week Beginner Yoga Immersion includes the following:
6 75 minute classes with Tammy on 6 consecutive Monday nights (Jan. 11 – Feb. 15)
6 FREE classes…1 class each week, any class you choose (this gives you an opportunity to try other teachers and other types of classes)
6 Handouts, 1 each week, with Home Practice suggestions
Yoga Philosophy/Psychology and it’s application to the 21st century
Basic Level 1 Postures with emphasis on healthy physical alignment
Breathing Exercises to increase focus and concentration and to lower stress in the body and mind
Meditation…it’s benefits, and suggestions on how to create your own practice every day

Since 2005, I have been offering group and private sessions for a variety of ailments and conditions as an alternative healing method, meant to complement conventional western medicine. Yoga Therapy is considered a current and evolving field of health care.

LOOKING FOR A PRIVATE YOGA THERAPY SESSION?
Private Yoga Therapy sessions with me are available by appointment. Recommended for individuals with challenges in mobility, strength or motor control, habitual movement patterns that cause pain, or experienced students who seek to refine their practice. Recommended for athletes who, from muscular imbalance, structural misalignment or overuse, have injuries or limitations. Private yoga therapy sessions are also available to anyone suffering from various symptoms of scoliosis, inflammatory disease, chemotherapy side effects, PTSD, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, or are in recovery from addiction.
A private session includes an initial assessment, detailed instruction and a yogic prescription by email that is intended to be used as home practice. I recommend atleast 3 sessions to establish relationship and for me to fully offer my best on how to move forward. Please note that I do not diagnose issues, but can work with a medical diagnosis. My sessions are intended to be complementary to other forms of health care.
